SAM-e Complete Giveaway

***WINNER PICKED 8/27 WITH RANDOM.ORG***

***CONGRATULATIONS, #19 Katie!!!***

her comment...
Going for a run is the best thing for my mood!

SAM-e is a naturally-occurring compound that works with the body's chemistry to maintain a more balanced mood. As you get older, your SAM-e levels can diminish, causing changes in your mood and temperament. Nature Made SAM-e Complete is a daily supplement that replenishes your body's natural levels of SAM-e to help naturally restore a healthy mood in as little as 7 to 14 days.

I've had funky mood swings since Roo was born, having been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, so I was definitely interested in trying SAM-e Complete. Taking two pills every morning seemed to even out my mood without leaving me feeling drugged out. I was also told by a renowned nutritionist that crushing a couple of SAM-e tablets into a glass of goji berry juice is an instant good mood cocktail. Works for me! (It's important to note that people diagnosed with bipolar depression and pregnant or nursing women should consult their doctors before taking SAM-e.)

Nature Made SAM-e Complete recently launched Give a Smile to help Dream Factory, the second largest children’s wish-granting organization in the U.S., to grant the wishes of three children suffering from a critical or chronic illness. You can help Adam, Andrew and Shay's wishes come true simply by uploading a picture, commenting on Facebook or tweeting a message.

Disclosure: “I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Nature Made SAM-e Complete and received products necessary to facilitate my candid review.”

To enter and win a three month supply of Nature Made SAM-e Complete along with a Nature Made aluminum water bottle and mood journal, please comment on this post with your favorite mood-lifter.

Touch'd Giveaway

***WINNER PICKED 8/27 WITH RANDOM.ORG***

***CONGRATULATIONS, Lisa @thebeadgirl !!!***

her comment...
oh my word...almond puff please!

love rachel MUST try her products :)

Rachel Ferrucci is a dynamo. We've been friends on Twitter and Collective Bias for a while but I finally got to spend some time with Rachel and watch her in action at Evo, where she was in charge of coordinating the speakers– no small feat but she did it in inimitable style, often with a miniskirt, towering stiletto heels and always with a great sense of humor.

Rachel is a busy, busy, busy lady with a zillion different projects going at all times. So naturally she decided to up the ante even further, launching her own line of bath and body products designed to pamper and protect skin. She spent eight years refining the products in the Touch'd line and now she's ready to share them with the world.

I received the Moisture Myst, which is a spray-on that absorbs quickly leaving only a faint scent and soft, soft skin. The Tropical Paradise scent is a bit floral for me (Cherry Bomb or Almond Puff would be more up my alley) but I love how non-greasy it is and easy to apply. It's really great for parched, sunburned skin because it's light ultra refreshing. It is also fantastic for squirmy kiddos who don't like to sit still for lotion application after baths. Just spritz it on damp skin and they'll never know what hit them… Moisture Myst has been great for Roo's occasional eczema patches.

The initial Touch'd offerings include:

Organic Sugar Scrub, Moisture Myst, Bath Butter (this one sounds amazing!), Foaming Salt Soak and Tub Tea Bags.

To enter and win your own Foaming Salt Soak, please comment on this post with which Touch'd scent you want to try most.

Entries will be accepted through August 25th and I'll pick the winner using Random.org. US readers are eligible.

For an additional entry, post my button on your blog (see code on sidebar), join the Touch'd Facebook page, follow @Touchd on Twitter, follow Superdumb Supervillain, follow me on Twitter, fan Superdumb Supervillain on Facebook, fave me on Technorati or subscribe via email or subscribe via reader. My favorite way to incorporate whole grains in my diet is by eating 100% whole grain bread when I make a sandwich.

I have never been a huge breakfast person but since having kids, I try to make an effort to eat something healthy in the morning. Lately, I've been obsessed with greek yogurt and bananas but I also like to add some kind of grain in, too. You know, for roughage. I received a box of Uncle Sam cereal to try and it really added a lot to my morning yogurt. Crunchy and lightly sweet, it reminds me a lot of the Sugar Smacks of my youth, without too much of that nasty demon white sugar– Uncle Sam is naturally sweetened with just a touch of barley malt.

It's made of toasted whole grain wheat and flaxseed, so it's high in dietary fiber and Omega 3 vitamins. The kids haven't been as excited about Uncle Sam cereal as I have but I think they'll change their minds when I use it as a cobbler topping…

To enter and win your own box of Uncle Sam cereal, please comment on this post with your favorite way to incorporate whole grains into your diet.

Entries will be accepted through August 25th and I'll pick the winner using Random.org. US readers are eligible.

Wubbzy Goes To School

Just in time for back to school season, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! has released a new DVD. “Wubbzy Goes To School” is available nationwide TODAY August 3, 2010. I've written about my kids' obsession with Wubbzy and how "wow, wow!" was actually Jasper's first word. (I know, I let my kids watch too much TV.) I'm hoping seeing the little yellow guy bounce into school makes the transition to preschool easier for him. The silly songs and slightly moralistic stories always have an impact on him. If only Wubbzy had a potty video, we'd be all set…

Synopsis from the press release:

“Wubbzy Goes To School” (SRP $16.98) puts the “cool” in “school” with six charming episodes that will have everyone ready to hit the books. In “Who Needs School?,” Wubbzy is nervous about going off to school for the very first time and decides he can learn all he needs to know on his own. When things don’t work out as expected and Wubbzy has no one to play with, he realizes that maybe school isn’t so bad after all. In another episode, “New Kid On The Block,” Wubbzy learns that meeting and accepting new friends can be a big! big! big! job. When Murphy, a larger-than-life new student, joins the class, Wubbzy finds that good friends can come in all shapes and sizes.

Additional episodes include: “Gotta Dance,” “Wubbzy the Star,” “You Gotta Have Art” and “Magic Tricks,” starring Wuzzleburg’s own Moo Moo the Magician! Fans will also be “wowed” with cool bonus features such as the “Meet Wubbzy’s Schoolmates” photo gallery, coloring and activity sheets and more.

Follow Wubbzy on Twitter!

Disclosure: We received a screening copy of this DVD in order to write this review.

My favorite flavor from is the triple chocolate.

Ice cream is not a hard sell for us. I come from a long line of ice cream aficionados and my kids are already developing their palate. Chocolate is a family staple. I was excited to try the new Breyer's Smooth & Dreamy ice cream bars because they have 6g of fat and only 130 calories per bar, plus they are free of artificial colorants or preservatives. They had the potential to be a moderately healthy option in the world of ice cream treats, true, but would they be delicious? Let me show you what the kids thought:

Yes, Roo and Jasper snarfed the whole box of Triple Chocolate Chip Bars within a week and begged me to buy more. I also picked up some Chocolate Brownie Caramel Sandwiches and they are sublime. Mmm!

Enter the Wheel of Delights Instant Win & Sweepstakes with prizes including spa days, maid service, movie tickets, gift cards, Breyer's Smooth & Dreamy coupons and a grand prize of $10,000 and a day with celebrity trainer Kathy Kaehler!

To enter and win three full value coupons for Breyer's Smooth & Dreamy ice cream bars and sandwiches, please comment on this post with your favorite flavor from the Smooth & Dreamy website. (I was going to give them to three separate winners but really I think one family needs to try more than just one box…)

Entries will be accepted through August 25th and I'll pick the winner using Random.org. US readers are eligible.
