Mmm, marzipan.

I do love marzipan and these babies are freakishly realistic. I am not sure I would be able to ingest one of them...

This is floating around online, if anyone knows who made them (or why!), please let me know and I will give them credit.

Nan tells me that these are actually the work of an artist, Camille Allen, and they are mostly made of polymer clay. Not as yummy but still impressive. The miniatures are crazy looking and strangely cool but the bigger babies fall more into the scary realm of collectible dolls, where I dare not venture.

  1. If you eat them you'll go to hell.

Just kidding. But you would get sick because they are actually not Marzipan. (Phew!) When I saw these last year I thought, what kind of talented sicko makes edible babies?! So I checked it out on Snopes and it (as I was praying it was) was a hoax. Well, they are real and the person who made them is incredibly talented (she's linked on Snopes) but she's not an artist with fantasies of eating tiny babies either! :^D

Here's the link to the snopes story.

  2. For some reason, I liked them more as a food item...

Collectible baby dolls freak me out!

  3. LOL!

I don't know... biting off the head would be a lot harder than say, biting off the ear of a chocolate bunny or the head of a marshmallow Peep.

I agree, they are adorable... but then creepy at the same time. My Grandpa was a doll collector (he was the sweetest old man... I have no idea why he collected dolls.) I can just tell you that going into his "doll room" (yes, they had a whole room!) was very freaky and smelled very musty.
