Planes, Trains and Automobiles

***WINNER PICKED 4/17 WITH RANDOM.ORG*** ***CONGRATULATIONS, Kristy!!!***
her comment: I love the Elephant Zoobie Pet!

Little Jet Set is an online emporium for the tiniest travelers. Founded by two moms, the company features everything you might need to make traveling with little ones bearable and even fun. They stock items meant to comfort (blankets, pillows, dolls), carry (luggage, toiletry kits), and entertain (books, toys, games) the whole family. And, yes, they do feature several versions of travel bingo:

My very favorite thing on Little Jet Set is the kid-sized long-haired cat suitcase by Room Seven, Dutch designers of fantastical kids clothing and accoutrements. I know Roo would just love it, too. (We have several items from the Super Cat series. I'm thinking he must be Long-Haired Cat's boyfriend.) It's $180, but you probably won't lose it on the baggage carousel…

The new Towgo Trunki is probably a more affordable and practical option. The hard-sided plastic suitcase also doubles as a ride-on toy, potentially giving your kid something to do while waiting in all those endless airport, car rental and hotel lines. It looks like fun! I'd like to have one in my size.

Little Jet Set has playsets for kids of all ages, from plush soft stackers for infants through conversation-provoking games for everyone to share. One of the more novel offerings is the all-in-one Find It! line. These games hide tiny objects in a sealed tube. They're obscured by beads so you have to keep shaking and rotating the tube to see what you can find. It sounds simple, but it's very addictive. It comes with a checklist pad so older kids and adults can keep track of their discoveries.

To enter and win a Find It! At the Zoo game, please comment on this post with your favorite item from Little Jet Set. I'd love to hear your tales of traveling with kids, too!

Entries will be accepted through April 16th and I'll pick the winner using Random.org.

US/Canada readers are eligible. Only one entry/comment per person, please.
Make sure you leave an email address in your comment or that you have one accessible on your blog so you can be contacted if you win! Or, you may choose to check for your nickname at Prizey.Fetch, a new site that compiles winners in one convenient place:

  1. I'd love to have the Doodles book for our kids. Well, actually, I think my husband and I would have fun drawing in it, too!

We haven't been too many places with the kids....no trips longer than 3-4 days, and always with a separate bedroom for them (in a condo vs. a hotel). We've never attempted a plane trip; our oldest is only 3, so we figured we weren't brave enough for that yet.

    Thanks! ( meg.wilson@gmail.com )

  6. Most definitely the Car Valet by Alex. How awesome to have all that stuff in a little carrying desk!

  7. We like the 'Map of the USA Sticker Set Play Scene by Mudpuppy' but I like the 'find it at the zoo' game too. We just saw these at our library. I wish I had some travel tips for you, but I don't go anywhere! But even for short trips in the car, I am a big fan of color wonder stuff, or the CD's that use the kids name-my son is mesmerized and thinks that lady is talking to him for sure (he is 4)

  8. I love the monsters magnetic figures. How fun and easy to keep track of in the car...
We've had a few travel disasters though the kids seem unphased. We were driving home from visiting family. The drive usually takes 6 hours. We left early to beat the weather and instead were caught in a blizzard. 10 hours into the trip and only 150 miles from where we started, we finally got to a hotel that wasn't filled. The kids thought it was a whole other part of the vacation. My husband and I were frazzled.

  49. Wow! Little Jet Set has so many fun things! It is hard to pick just one as item after item jumped out to me as something my girls would adore. With a new baby in the house, I thought the Flower Power Clutch Ball & Nappie were darling, fun, and useful. For the little elephant lover in our home, the Ellema the Elephant 3in 1 Travel Pet is perfect! We make lots of car trips to see family. The kids have become accustomed to it and seem to enjoy the ride...but things like these to cuddle always make for a smoother ride (and hopefully, a bit of a nap time during the trip! :)

  60. There were sooooo many things we would love to have. I really liked the World Traveler Dress Up Doll.

    A quick travel story?

We drove from Florida to North Carolina, spent a week traveling throughout NC (and staying at a different hotel every night!), and drove back down to FL - with a just turned two year old. It was at times trying, exhausting, and an exercise in patience. She eventually got to be a pretty good traveler though. The best times were when she was napping, the worst when she was fussy and wanted non-stop entertainment.

  61. I love the lunch totes for the kids!

  62. Fun With Felt by Chicken Socks sound like something my girls would love.

Let me just say always carry extra clothes for yourself when traveling with little ones stuff can come out either end :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. I love the zoobie pets (Hada the hippo is my fave)

My worst travel story was a lady changes her childs poopie diaper next to me (I do mean right next to me) in her lap while on a plane. The smell did not improve when she just shoved the diaper in that little pocket on the seat.

For my own kids I always bring a small toy (either new or one they have not seen in a while) or two if the trip is long.

  89. I have to say I love the TowGo Trunks! If I had it, I'd probably find a way to attach a rope or something so I could let Little Bear sit on it and pull it along with her on it! Way easier than having to drag her and saying, "Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!"

    ReplyDelete
  90. Love all the travel games--Conversations to Go, I Have, Rubberneckers, etc... Always looking for something to entertain the kiddies that doesn't involve staring at something either outside or inside, as our 4-year-old daughter gets carsick easily. A favorite travel story of mine is my daughter's first (technically second, since it was the return trip) plane ride, when she was a little over 2 years old. We were delayed getting on the plane for hours, and then we were delayed once we were on the plane, and we were wringing our hands over what we were going to do when she finally decided to melt down, and wouldn't you know, she was SO excited to be doing something "special," she just had the most spectacular time and didn't even need any diversions. She was just happy talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talking about anything and everything. Everyone on the plane could not believe that she was the happiest person there, despite it being 7, 8, and then 9:00 at night. They probably would have preferred her to be a little quieter, but I'm sure they liked hearing talking more than crying! Just goes to show, you never know what will happen until it does.

  91. I've been eye-ing the Zoobie pets lately! Want Kojo the Croc!

Traveling alone with an infant is stressful (duh...everyone knows that)! The worst is trying to get thru security at the airport with a stroller, diaper bag, carry-on, cell phone, etc...You gotta take the baby out (mine was sleeping), take off your shoes, get the stroller through, and put it all back together again at the end! And of course, there are a million other people who are late for their flights that are right behind you!

  98. Find Its, Kojo the Croc, Map of the World Set. Just to name a few! We recently took a series of flights with our then 16 month old. Nervous, I stashed several lollipops. They worked like a charm, other passengers commented on how good he was, save one crotchety woman who asserted how inappropriate it was to give him so much sugar (2 whopping Dum Dums, neither of which he finished).

Oh..as for traveling with my kids. They all have their own blankies and pillows. They have their own snacks, books, oh, and pack of batteries for their gaming systems.

We stop alot and listen to alot of music we normally don't get to hear (bagpipes, techno, folk :) )

  156. I like Bit of Banter, Jr. Travelling with the kids has finally become tolerable. My early memories of family trips were so laden with stress, I hate to think back on them. The most vivid memory is of me bruising my ribs in the back seat of the car trying to nurse my baby while she was in the car seat.
