CONGRATULATIONS to:
GROMMOM!!!
her comment: Perfect timing! I just emailed the cd info to my husband yesterday when I came across it on the internet. My 3 year old is a HUGE dinosaur fan and loves to listen to hip hop with my husband in his car. Finally, a way to put the two loves together!

her comment: We like triceratops too! Maybe because I have a daughter named Sarah. :)
I will admit I am not someone who knows a lot about hip hop. If you went through my fairly large record collection, you could probably count all of the hip hop titles on your fingers and toes. Possibly just on your fingers if you don't count the Beastie Boys… I have the requisite De La Soul LP, a Dream Warriors CD I was into in college, Fugees CDs that were Bob's, L'Trimm because it cracks me up, a couple of Missy Elliott albums just because. Anyway, the point is, I am not someone who expected to love a Baby Loves Hip Hop release so much. But I really, really do.

The Dino 5 is a hip hop supergroup project for preschoolers helmed by noted producer Prince Paul. It's narrated by poet Ursula Rucker and tells a story about a band of dinosaur kids: MC T-Rex (Chali 2na from Jurassic 5), Billy Brontosaurus (Wordsworth from eMC), Tracy Triceratops (Ladybug Mecca from Digable Planets) , Teo Pterodactyl (Scratch from The Roots) and DJ Stegosaurus (Prince Paul).

The songs on The Dino 5 are catchy, funny and utterly listenable. Over and over and over. Kids will love "Jump Jump" and "Yeah, Me Too" and especially "What About 10?" I don't think this CD has left our stereo since it came in the mail. Roo asks for it by name and Jasper lights up when it comes on. And I don't hate it. In fact, I hum it to myself when they're not even around. So maybe I'm learning to like hip hop, too. Geez, I really need to check out the other genres in the Baby Loves Music pantheon…
