Fright Night Flor

***WINNER PICKED 10/23 WITH RANDOM.ORG***

***CONGRATULATIONS, clynsg (non-blogger)!!!***

her comment...
I think I like the Velvet Plush styles--they sound comfortable! As to the skull rug, it would most likely end up in a grandchild's room--the only problem would be, which one!

I am generally not one for holiday decorating but I must admit that I absolutely LOVE Halloween. As a matter of fact, I would keep Halloween stuff up all year 'round if it didn't make me feel like a goth poseur.

Imagine my delight when I saw the new offering from Flor, the monochromatic and slightly macabre Skully carpet tiles! These could go subtle or spooky, depending on how you combine them with other Flor tiles.

Skully can ordered as part of a pre-made Flor rug if you don't trust your own mix and match sensibilities. The Funny Bones Rug is made up of nine Skully tiles with a pre-cut quarter-tile striped border. It measures approximately 4' x 6'.

Super cool, even to little skatepunks who don't usually notice the decor…

To enter and win a Funny Bones Rug (a $130 value!), please comment on this post with your favorite Flor pattern. Halloween stories are welcome, too!

Entries will be accepted through October 22nd and I'll pick the winner using Random.org. US readers are eligible. Only one entry/comment per person, please.

For an additional entry, post my button on your blog or subscribe via email or reader and leave an extra comment letting me know.

Make sure you leave an email address in your comment or that you have one accessible on your blog so you can be contacted if you win! Or, you may choose to check for your nickname at Prizey.Fetch, a site that compiles winners in one convenient place:

  1. Oh. My. Goodness. I need these! We're freaky Halloween people, too. :) Halloween decor is good for the entire year, in my book anyway.

  3. That would be so great for a teenager's room...edgy but still keeping the secret dropped cigarettes from burning the better floor underneath (remembering my teenage years here, oh wait, mine was hair dye, not cigarettes...that was my best friend).

  4. How unique; I've never seen a skull rug. Then again, FLOR has some very unique designs. I just love mine :^)so the Girard designed is still my favorite although I'm sure my son would love this one year round.

  6. Oh my word! This would be AWESOME for the pirate themed boys room that so far only exists in my mind, but one day WILL exist in my HOUSE! Also: Must purchase house!
I love FlOR, I find something new to want every time I visit their site. Right now I'm digging the Morning Coffee in a color I think is called "organic blend", unless I am an idiot and that is describing the materials. It is kind of green? I also like the Shirt Stripe in "rugby stripe"
    Woowoo!

  7. Oh my! The Skully carpet tiles are so great! I think I would leave this up year round. You could use it an an entryway to scare away unwanted door to door salesmen. When they saw that on the floor I think they might think twice about using a sales-pitch on you. I just love the La Fonda del Sol - Verde -so cute for a kids room.

  35. What a great and adorable rug. I just love this rug.
I don't have any funny story about Halloween other than I too love Halloween so much. We go all out decorating our home inside and out. We just finished earlier today, decorating the outside of our home with skeletons, black cats, pumpkins, mums, mums and more mums and our kids and I even made 3 scarecrows. We plan on decorating the inside this weekend.
My favorite rug from Flor is the Square Dance in red/brown. What an awesome looking rug this is.
Thank you so much for this giveaway. I'd love to win this rug. My sons would flip over this. Thanks.

  39. This would SO make my son such a happy camper (well at least for a while - you know how teens are LOL). We just put in laminate flooring in his room and he needs a large rug to warm up the room and add a little sound absorption - all these skulls match all the skull stuff he already has (posters, jewelry, clothing, pillows, etc).

It is so hard to pick which is my favorite! I love a lot of the patterns. The Rake Me Over shag style I like though also. I love that sort of look - a nice bright red and maybe a tan mix would look good in the living room... hmmm....

I LOVE the rug entitled "Hello Down There". That is so cool!!!!!! I have it bookmarked. I'd love to get that one some day.

    A little Halloween story...

We took the kids to Disney World in October about 5 years ago (compliments of Nanny - thankfully). We were going to attend a Disney Halloween Party in the park but we totally didn't think about costumes. So here we are driving all over Orlando looking for costumes for my two kids. It was close to Halloween and the stores didn't have much of a selection left. We finally found an adorable chocolate chip cookie costume for our daughter that said "Got Milk?" on it. And for our son we found a cute cow costume. We thought that was so cute! Our kids were "milk and cookies". However my daughter was upset because she wanted to be a Disney princess (my son was too young to really care). At the park all the little girls you saw (ALL OF THEM!!!) were Disney princesses!!! My daughter was so upset. However, EVERYONE stopped us and said we had the cutest costumes and it was great to see kids "think outside the box" and NOT be Disney characters. Their costumes were a huge success.

Here it is 5 years later and my daughter, now 11, STILL remembers that she wanted to be a Disney Princess and how much she hated being that cute chocolate chip cookie. Sadly my son was only 3 at the time and doesn't remember a thing.

    Sorry to ramble.

    Thanks for the great contest!!

  60. My favorite Flor pattern is the Needlepoint Stripe in Ginger. I love the colors.
A few years back, my daughters begged for a Halloween party and I agreed to throw one only if they invited all their classmates. We figured that half would be seriously interested in joining us. The girls must have been more popular than we thought because of the 44 invities, 31 showed up. It was absolutely nuts! I sent my husband to the store three times to replenish supplies. After getting organized, the party was big fun and everyone had a great time.

  77. I adore Flor (I'd put that one a bumper sticker, if I could). I spend a fair amount of time drooling over the "La Fonda del Sol" pattern.

My favorite story: Every year I sit on my front porch to hand out candy while hubby takes the kids door-to-door. Every year I lock up the dogs in their cages because they insist on coming outside and making pests of themselves and since a lot of children are scared of big dogs, I lock them down. Bo, the oldest dog, adores kids so he's the biggest protester every Halloween. Last Halloween, I was laughing because his cage was in the basement and you could hear him crying except he varied his pitch this year and it sounded just like moaning coming from inside the house. You'd hear "Aaaaaaaawooooooooo" coming from inside the house and someone asked me if I was hiding a werewolf in there!

Then it got quiet and I figured he finally gave up. Oh no, not our Bo. He's a master at unlocking gates and apparently cage doors. As I'm handing out candy, the kids are laughing and pointing behind me. I turned around to find Bo standing in front of the storm door with one of the extra bags of candy hanging out of his mouth! I'd put it on the living room table figuring it was safe with the dogs in the cage. Luckily he didn't eat it, it appears he was only going to "help".

  163. The bones is definitely the best! I love how it's in pieces so you could keep it up for the fall, and store it away the rest of the year! That's awesome.

My favorite, all around, for the house would probably be the subtle shift in light blue. It would fabulous on our hardwood floors.
