Shredding

I'm on Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred, working my way through the Shredheads October Challenge. I'd like to say the pounds are melting off but so far it's more like everything is tightening up which is pretty gratifying in its own way. (Think disappearing back flab!) I do, however, have a serious impediment to my workout schedule- other than my own lack of willpower and intrinsic loathing of sweat. It's about three feet high and super noisy:

Jasper will try to sit on top of me during crunches, under me during plank poses… whining the whole time "mommy, stooooop! no, mommy!" It gives new meaning to the term resistance training. Sometimes the cats join in the howling.

Good times.

  1. Oh Jasper, you must let mommy shred, while not shredding her to bits.

I can so relate to this. I try to do a power walk with the stroller each day, however my little companion wants "out out!" and then I end up strolling along at an elderly pace to accommodate him.

Great job, getting rid of back flab. I'm envious.

  2. Yeah, I found I can't work out around my 3 foot high noisemakers at all. The two of them and I all just end up in bad moods together. *laugh* So I save it for naptime, schooltime, or when my wife is home. Fortunately she understands I need my Jillian. :)

    Great job pushing through!

  4. I'm telling you, that kid resistance training is the best. I thought I was all hot stuff because I could do 20 pull ups. Then my boy came and said "do them with me on your back" 5 Pullups later and I was toast. Yup, totally hear you.

  5. Good for you for sticking with it though! I've given up on working out, for now... =) It's just too hard with the kids! You think you've got them busy with something else, but the second they hear you they're all over you!

  6. Congrats on making it to level 2. You are awesome. That workout is no cakewalk.

I have to admit I didn't lose much weight with the shred either, but - like you - I did tone up. And I definitely needed that. ;)
