My Mommy is a Blogger - Book Review

One of the coolest things I brought home with me from EVO this summer was a picture book by Sommer Poquette, who blogs at Green and Clean Mom. The title, My Mommy is a Blogger, cracked me up but I definitely know how silly it sometimes feels to explain to most non-tech people what bloggers do all day. Laying it all out in storybook prose is total genius! Sommer captures the sweetness of her daughter showing her off at career day and excitedly blurting out, "my mommy is a booger!" Roo and Jasper think that's particularly hilarious, of course…

The book is amusing to kids, sure, but My Mommy is a Blogger also makes some pertinent points about social media, marketing, and fair compensation in a new advertising arena. There are some lessons about our free market economy somewhere in that subtext, too… I suspect some bloggers' significant others could learn a thing or two from reading this book to their kids at bedtime. Grandma and grandpa, too!

My Mommy is a Blogger is a must-have for mom bloggers with little kids and would make a swell holiday gift for family members who keep asking "can you get me one of those?" Bonus: If you buy directly from Sommer, save 30% off at checkout at http://mymommyisablogger.com using code BOOK30!
