You might not know this about me but I love over-the-top sci-fi/fantasy movies. When Roo was born, Bob and I spent her first hours in the room with her watching Conan. (The old one, thank you very much.We tried to watch the new one but… ugh.) I was obsessed with Clash of the Titans as a kid and all of the other crazy Harryhausen films. Exotic warrior princesses festooned with jingly-jangly finery are my bag, baby.
I've been dying of curiosity about John Carter, based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs (Tarzan) novel "A Princess of Mars." It premiered last night in Hollywood and will open nationwide on March 9th. It looks over the top, yes, but you can bet I'll be checking it out!
