Arbor Mist Frozen Wine Cocktails let you make summery, tropical drinks at home with no mixing, ice or blenders necessary. Just toss a pouch into the freezer for five hours and then gently massage, tear off the top and squeeze into a glass. See, even the preparation sounds sexy. There are three luscious flavors to choose from: Blackberry Merlot, Strawberry White Zinfandel and White Pear Pinot Grigio.
The Blackberry Merlot flavor reminded me a lot of the berry sangria at Carraba's. It was dark and sweet and probably my favorite of the three, which is not a surprise since I tend to prefer red wines. The Strawberry White Zinfandel tasted like candy. It was perhaps a little *too* easy to drink and reminded me of the wine that may or may not have been a staple of your high school drinking stories. Yummy. The White Pear Pinot Grigio had a crisp and subtle flavor that would be very nice for drinking by a campfire. It made me think of my best friend's mom drinking white wine with ice cubes in it in the '80s.
I had to try the "mommy juice box" method. Classy.
Waaay better in a glass. Especially when that glass has been made by cutting the top off of a wine bottle. Sometimes it's nice to have a crafty husband.
They're a little too sweet for me to consider drinking regularly or to drink with a meal but they'd be a great addition to a cookout, bunco night or a nice treat after a particularly rough day.
