her comment...
I think that the
AminoGenesis’ Tripeptinon capsules is what I would really want and perfect for me. I am now 42 and starting to get worried about those lines and wrinkles. Anything that would slow down the process would be a godsend

I used to linger at cosmetics counters on my days off, poking in jars of goo and sniffing perfumes, contemplating lipstick colors and which mascara could best mimic false eyelashes. Of course, now that I have the permanent dark circles, ashy skin and unkempt hair of a frazzled mom, I don't spend nearly enough time on my appearance. And it shows. I'm also pushing 40, which combined with the sleep deprivation of having two kids under 5, is starting to become apparent. Wonderful. Obviously, I jumped at the chance to try out three new scientifically-developed products designed to overcome the aging process…

DreamBelly Stretch Mark Cream contains ingredients recognized for their ability to revitalize skin during pregnancy and tone skin after childbirth, including aloe vera gel, natural butters, moisturizing oils, and grapeseed extract, as well as rosehip seed oil and antioxidant-rich vitamin E. DreamBelly helps prevent stretch marks by keeping skin supple and elastic and may aid the body in regenerating strained tissues and help fade existing marks. Suggested retail price: $19.95 www.fairhavenhealth.com

AminoGenesis’ Tripeptinon capsules have been called "a facelift in a capsule." They are designed to lift, firm and strengthen facial connective tissues, giving skin the most youthful appearance possible. Tripeptinon combines three powerful anti-aging, anti-wrinkle and anti-sagging technologies along with the base formula of 17 amino acids to address surface issues as well as underlying issues such as supporting and connective tissue. Suggested retail price: $79 www.aminogenesis.com

TOKI: The Collagen You Drink reintroduces a youthful look and feel to skin with an extraordinary ingredient base that includes the moisture-rich retention of Hyaluronic acid in a mucopolysaccharide complex. The mucopolysaccharide complex replenishes skin from within, and combines with Collagen Peptide and Vitamin C to restore a more youthful quality. When modified with HAI™ Amino Acid Extract from Hijiki seaweed for enhanced absorption, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles may be dramatically reduced. Your skin tone, moisture level and resiliency are revived. In as little as 45 days of using Toki, skin texture starts to become smoother and tighter and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles may be diminished. Suggested retail price: $175 for a 30 day supply. To order, visit www.888ageless.com.

Of the three products, my favorite was the Tripeptinon capsules. My skin has been very dry lately and the amino acid oils rehydrated my face without making me feel greasy, which surprised me. I also find the whole capsule concept novel in a Star Trek kind of way. The DreamBelly was nice, too, although at this point my stretchmarks have become fairly innocuous. I can see how this cream would be a pleasant ritual during pregnancy or post-partum. It has a nice clean, almost citrus-y scent and goes on light and smooth. I only received a few packets of Toki so I wasn't able to see its long-term effects but I have to admit that plumpness and elasticity is not necessarily something I am lacking in just yet. I am super curious about the Toki Hair Color supplement which is supposed to encourage pigment production naturally. I've had some issues since childbirth with dyeing my hair (umm, try oozing blistering scalp and ears… ) so finding a way to avoid the recurring white strands in my otherwise almost-black hair would be really fabulous.

To enter and win one of each of the skin care products listed above (a $275 value!), please comment on this post and let me know which one (DreamBelly, Tripeptinon, or Toki) seems most appropriate for you and why. Be sure to check out the sponsors' sites for more information.

Belly flop

I had a sonogram today and was expecting some news like "your baby is huge and you will be delivering him much sooner than we previously had thought" but they actually pushed my due date back a week. July 30. Apparently, the fact that I am HUGE isn't problematic and the only reason I have to pee all the time is because Jasper's doing headstands on my bladder. Great.
