Tomorrow, I'm supposed to be hosting a House Party to sample Hershey's Bliss, a new line of chocolates from the trusted old favorite. Of course, my friends all suck and I've only gotten one confirmation, so it's apparently going to be a playgroup with two four year olds and an insane amount of chocolate…so I'm cordially inviting all of my Bloggy Carnival friends to share in the rich, chocolatey wealth.
Hershey's Bliss comes in three varieties: milk chocolate, milk chocolate with a meltaway center, and dark chocolate (my personal fave). Each piece is wrapped in jewel-toned foil. It might be too special to leave out for the kids, although Roo is pretty good at finding it no matter where I hide it. It's schmancy enough to serve to your lady friends, should you have a book club or kaffee klatch that requires such things. Overall, it's CHOCOLATE, people. Silky, melty, divine. Yum.
To enter and win some Hershey's Bliss of your own (one bag of each flavor!), please comment on this post with your favorite chocolate memory. Four runners-up will also receive some Hershey's Bliss swag, including shopping list notepads and pens.
Entries will be accepted through April 27th and I'll pick the winner using Random.org. US/Canada readers are eligible. Only one entry/comment per person, please.
Make sure you leave an email address in your comment or that you have one accessible on your blog so you can be contacted if you win! Or, you may choose to check for your nickname at Prizey.Fetch, a new site that compiles winners in one convenient place:
My favorite chocolate memory was from this Easter. I don't give my daughter a lot of chocolate so at Easter I left her have a 2.5 oz chocolate rabbit. She had it EVERYWHERE on her! I think the majority of it was on her cheeks and thank goodness I hadn't put her Easter dress on yet for pictures. It was so adorable though.
ReplyDeleteChocolate! :)
ReplyDeleteI guess my favorite chocolate memory is making s'mores over a bonfire we had in our back yard. My brother and his now wife were being really silly that one time and smearing chocolate all over each other's faces!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite chocolate memory is when my first boyfriend bought me a huge bag of Lindt truffles. I thought that was the height of sophistication!
ReplyDeleteCan it be a recent memory? Like yesterday? Cuz my roommate was making chocolate-covered matza (for Passover) when we spur of the moment decided to dip marshmallows and peanuts in the melted chocolate as well. It was a sweet (pardon the pun) time with two great friends.
ReplyDeleteShelly, that is so funny, the exact same thing happened to me with my first boyfriend. Same brand and everything, I thought he being was sooooo fancy. =)

When I was a teenager, we lived in a rural area. The sign that said our exit was ahead 1 mile always seemed to us to be closer than that. So one night on the way home from Wal-Mart, Mom and I decided to measure it. Somehow, with both of us watching extra-closely for it so we could hit the trip meter at just the right moment, we missed the exit! The next exit took us to some back road. Mom was popping the Hershey's Kisses we'd just bought, as fast as I could unwrap them! We did finally find our way home, but we still marvel over how we could possibly have missed the exit that night! lol
ReplyDeleteMy favorite chocolate memory was when I was in junior high. I had a bag of Hershey's kisses on the counter to take to school for a project of some kind. In the morning I discovered NO BAG. I got incredibly mad at my chocoholic dad for eating my entire bag of chocolate, even though he denied it. My mom was mad too since she had to run me to the store early to get a new bag.
ReplyDeleteLater that day our dog started pooping metallic silver paper. He had eaten the entire bag, plastic, chocolate, paper and all. Our dog was fine thankfully, it could have turned out really badly! But I owed my dad a really big apology for getting so mad at him!
Thanks for the chance to win!
My favorite chocolate memory is having ice cream with my grandpa when I was very small. I got a scoop of chocolate on a sugar cone. I took one lick and the ball of ice cream fell to the floor. I wanted to cry, but my grandfather immediately got me another cone. I took one lick off this 2nd cone, and it too fell right on the ground. This time I did cry, but thinking quickly, my wonderful grandfather got me another scoop of ice cream....this time in a dish!!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway. Thanks for your generosity.

Chocolate - must have some effect on my memory because when I think about it, all I see is deep rich brown and not anything else!
ReplyDeleteThough I vaguely recollect long survival hikes with my dad and chocolate at the end of them as the reward. And hot chocolate at the end of long moonlit survival walks in the snow.
Wow, a favorite chocolate memory?? The first one that stands out is when I made chocolate chip muffins to take as a breakfast to a grown-up sleepover I went to. At least I intended to save them as a breakfast treat... they were such a hit that there were none left come morning. :-)

Several years back-- I saw an ad in a magazine for a free sample of truffles. I'm not sure if I called or sent a postcard-- but I ended up with 2 magnificent, to die for truffles. Oooooooh, so melt in your mouth good!
ReplyDeleteSometimes when it was cold, Mom would make us this breakfast of biscuit and chocolate gravy. The gravy was actually more of a thin syrup that she'd make from Hershey's Cocoa. She'd also give us a cup of homemade chocolate.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite chocolate memory is going to Hershey Park and getting free candy!
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of a sad memory, really, but the only very vivid memory I have of chocolate: I got one of my favorite things, a chocolate orange, in my Christmas stocking, just like most every year. You know how to eat those, right? First you whack it nice and hard on a firm surface, to dislodge all the pieces inside. Then you unwrap it and eat it.
ReplyDeleteWell, I whacked this particular chocolate orange on one of my favorite dinner plates. Not a table top or a desk, nope, a dinner plate. And you know what happened? It instantly broke into perfect pie-shaped pieces. And my chocolate orange didn't break at all...I had to whack it again.
Poor, poor dinner plate.

ReplyDeleteMy niece had a metabolic disorder so she wasn't allowed chocolate, it could be fatal in the right amounts. One day her mom and I were talking and she got into my bag of Hershey kisses. She had never even tried to eat chocolate before, she knew it was bad for her, but that day, for some reason she popped one in her mouth. As soon as the taste hit her, her eyes got big, she lit up all over, and says "mmmmm, MOM, CHOC is sooooo good!" Luckily, one piece isn't fatal, and since she's had a liver transplant that cured her of the disorder, so now, she eats all the choc she wants! lol.
