I love cranberry juice but don't keep it in the house much because it usually contains so much added sugar. (And because Roo sucks the stuff up so quickly. I swear, that kid has a hollow leg and it's filled with cranberry juice.) Energy drinks pose a similar problem, they're as sweet as candy and gobbled up twice as quickly. I was pleasantly surprised when Mom Central alerted me to the new line of Ocean Spray drinks that combine cranberry juice with energy-boosting ingredients like green tea and B vitamins.
Cranergy comes in two flavors: Cranberry Lift and Raspberry Cranberry Lift. Both contain just 35 calories per serving, thanks to the miracle of Splenda. They both taste great, although I prefer the Raspberry Cranberry Lift slightly more. They are perfect for the oncoming summer days– crisp and refreshing, sort of like a cranberry spritzer/iced tea hybrid. (I bet they would make fantastic Cape Cods…not that I am endorsing the demon vodka, by any means. I would never do that.) Best of all, Cranergy is for grown ups. It gives you a bit of pep and sometimes that's all you need to brighten your day.
