The title of this post was taken from a porno cover I saw once in SF. There was a sex shop next to an Italian place we were eating at and we were all totally giddy with excitement at the array of perversions that we didn't even know existed (lactating mamas? pooping princesses? what?!) . This was well before I ever contemplated babies and I didn't even know it was possible to aim your breast milk. Or that anyone would be turned on by it. Geez, I am still not convinced that anyone is, especially given the sorry state of most nursing lingerie.

My first pregnancy was marked by practical nursing gear that looked largely like sports bras. Mono-boob was a major issue. And I nursed Roo for two years. Two long years of ugly undergarments… So with Jasper, I was on a quest for pretty nursing clothing early on. I'm not sure if it's because I'm more informed, but it does seem like there are much better options. One of the best I've discovered is PassionSpice, which features lingerie that is not only attractive but also imminently wearable.



My favorite, hands-down, is the Carla bra and Carlie tap pant set. The soft, stretchy microfiber is perfect for everyday wear and the contrasting ribbon detailing is absolutely precious. The black is nice but I am totally in love with the orchid set. I bought it in two sizes, even.



I also like the Elle Balconet Bra features sophisticated pintucked ruffled detailing and comes in black/burgundy or aqua. The latter reminds me of The Little Mermaid, but umm, sexy. The matching nursing pads are a hoot, too!




I prefer the flap-down opening style, but there are several other nursing bras available at PassionSpice, most for less than $30. They also have some hot-to-trot maternity items. The Ally Maternity Camisole would be positively scandalous at your next baby shower!



The red hot Giselle Maternity Babydoll is comparatively subdued. Literally matronly! And it's also available in black, for the demure pregnant sex kitten…
