***CONGRATULATIONS, #32: jenemm!!!***
NOTHING tacky about politics--it's a public issue, religion is private.
Obama all the way! I like the Women's Democrat Donkey Couture Tee.
Ciara Elend is an artist whose canvas is clothing. She hand carves her designs into linoleum blocks and then prints them on incredibly soft vintage-styled tees and handmade totes. I was lucky enough to receive two of my favorite prints: Soda Girl and Candy Boy. I love the retro look of the prints. And the tees fit like your oldest favorite shirt, soft and cuddly. The tags (shown above) are recycled paper, embedded with seeds, so you can plant them. So cool.
The cut is snug but not tight and what's especially nice for mommies is the forgiving length. They hit around your hips, so there is no riding up and exposing a flubby underbelly or muffin top! The fabric is so stretchy that I think these might even work as maternity tees for slimmer women. And they don't lose their shape or get baggy and loose when you pull 'em up to nurse your kiddo, either. Very nice.
Ciara Elend Couture has partnered with The Creative Coalition to raise awareness of the importance of voting in this election year. Ciara has designed a series of Special Edition Election 2008 tees with proceeds going to The Creative Coalition.
You may have seen some celebrities wearing Ciara's Election 2008 tees at the Democratic or Republican conventions!
To enter and win your own Special Edition Election 2008 tees (choice of style and size subject to availability), please comment on this post with your favorite print from Ciara Elend Couture. In the interest of being topical, you could tell me which way you're leaning in the election, too. (Or not, that's not mandatory for entry… politics isn't something that comes up a lot on mommy blogs and I am curious what everyone is thinking.)
Entries will be accepted through September 24th and I'll pick the winner using Random.org. US readers are eligible. Only one entry/comment per person, please.
Make sure you leave an email address in your comment or that you have one accessible on your blog so you can be contacted if you win! Or, you may choose to check for your nickname at Prizey.Fetch, a site that compiles winners in one convenient place:
