In junior high, I remember thinking it was weird that people would talk about rubbers so much in old books and movies. Oh, that's not what they meant. Never mind. The only kind of rubber footwear you see in Hawaii is zori, aside from the brief wave of jelly sandals in the '80s. There wasn't much call for dress shoes or rain shoes in my youth. When I came across a pair of rubber booties at my grandparents' house on the mainland, I had no idea what they were. They weren't pretty, though, I'll tell you that much…
Shuella is a modern interpretation of your grandmother's galoshes, literally a "shoe umbrella" to protect your delicate footwear from the rain. They can be worn over any heel height, from ballet flats to skyscraper heels, and feature a non-slip sole. Shuella is available in three bright candy colors (hot pink, buttercup yellow and apple green) and classic black. Each pair comes in its own zippered pouch, complete with a towel to wipe them off when you reach your destination. Because you're a classy lady, with places to go and people to see. And be seen by!
To enter and win your own pair of Shuella booties, please comment on this post with your favorite color or a color you would like to see offered in the future.
