Soft and Smooth, Finally

***WINNER PICKED 2/23 WITH RANDOM.ORG***

***CONGRATULATIONS, Ingrid (non-blogger)!!!***

her comment...
I have dry skin, especially in th winter months. My hands are always dry and I have to use lotion or cream several times a day. Thanks for this very nice giveaway.

Instead of inheriting my mother's dragon lady talons with their perfectly oval nail beds, I have small, boyish hands that look just like my dad's. Including cuticles that are so dry that even seasoned manicurists hang their heads in shame. The dry cuticles lead to hangnails that I can't resist picking at until they are scabby and sore. I've been trying to curb my nasty nail-biting habit so that the kids won't follow suit but nothing seems to help. I've tried all sorts of cuticle creams and wonder balms with no lasting results until I received a bottle of Vaseline Clinical Therapy lotion.

The Prescribe The Nation campaign started in Kodiak, Alaska, a rugged community with harsh environmental conditions that wreak havoc on skin. Kodiak citizens were given bottles of Vaseline Clinical Therapy lotion and told to "prescribe" them to friends and family members who they thought could use it. It was an easy sell because it's unscented and hypoallergenic, dries without leaving a greasy residue, and keeps skin moisturized for 24 hours.

I've been using Vaseline Clinical Therapy lotion for about a month now and I've actually had to trim my nails. Twice. Today, I even painted them. There is not a single dangling cuticle or bloody patch on my fingers. There are no dry patches on me, anywhere. Even my heels are totally soft. This stuff is good! And affordable. You can stockpile Vaseline Clinical Therapy lotion and still pay your heating bill this winter.

To enter and win a bottle of Vaseline Clinical Therapy lotion, plus a pampering gift basket including Godiva Chocolate, Kona Coffee, and Kiehl’s hair products, please comment on this post with your own dry skin stories.

Entries will be accepted through February 18th and I'll pick the winner using Random.org. US readers are eligible. Only one entry/comment per person, please.

  1. Actually, I am suffering from one right now! The inside of my left elbow has broken out in ugly red blotches! It's because of the cold and dryness. I am using a body butter to try to heal it, but BOY is it itchy! I would love to try this to see if it would work well!

  43. My excessively dry skin is a genetic thing as my Mom and Grandmother and Aunt Mill all had it so Vaseline Dry skin lotion was always around our house and at 73 I still use it on a daily basis because without it I fear I would just dry up and blow away on an errant wind. When I first read about the Vaseline Clinical Therapy I poo pooed it thinking it was just more hype but boy was I wrong. The regular Vaseline Skin lotion was great but the Clinical Therapy is beyond great. I almost feel like I have normal skin now and after 73 years it is like Vaseline and I have won the battle.

  44. My worst dry skin story is not mine; it is my friend's. She recently moved to the midwest from Malaysia, and was completely unprepared for the winters here. The most shocking thing for her was not the cold, but the dry skin - her hands aren't used to this weather, and they crack and bleed.

  144. I have eczema year-round. Yuck! My dermatologist recommended Vaseline, and I thought he meant the petroleum jelly. His nurse caught my expression, and said, "He means Vaseline lotion."

Whew! We both laughed. I knew I'd look strange walking around with petroleum jelly smeared on my arms and legs.

I love using Vaseline lotion, but haven't yet tried Clinical Therapy. I'd love to try it on this sad, dry skin.

Looks like a great giveaway. Thanks!

  187. i didn't read any other comments but i'm sure all of them have the same problem as myself, especially in the winter. i get dry, flakey, peely skin. sometimes it's so bad that it cracks and bleeds. the bottom of my heels are the worst, like alligator skin and it gets so thick. i don't think anything will help it. i've tried several products in the past that claimed they help even the worst types of dry skin, all to no avail. ped egg was the last thing i tried. forget it, what a waste of money.then, to top off, on top of my dry, flakey, peely skin, i also have itchy skin as well. that doesn't help matters either, cause then i end up itching it raw. sometimes to the point of where it bleeds.
