I'm really glad my kids are getting to an age where we can go to the movies together and see something that isn't animated. I still love cartoons, don't get me wrong, but it's fun to watch movies with a little more depth. 

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, which opens in theaters nationwide today, is the second installment in the film adaptations of the YA series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I love that it has all the bells and whistles of your traditional teen movie (cute actors, romance, action) but also mythological characters. I know, I know. I'm a total dork. Luckily, so are my kids.
