Booby prize

***Winner selected using Random.org! ***

Congratulations to Beco, who will soon be enjoying a Boob nightgown!

I have actually been scoping out Beco Baby Carriers lately for Jasper…
I think they would match well with Boob clothing.

Hopefully our winner will write in and let us know!

The thing I hate most about breastfeeding is the clothing. You have to wear things that have easy access but don't gape open. Most styles of nursing wear have an intricate system of layers and clips that tend to draw more attention to you than yanking your shirt up probably would. Fumbling around and poking and prodding while trying to get your baby latched on properly doesn't make you feel attractive, that's for sure.

That's why I was so excited to discover Boob, a Swedish clothing line for pregnant and breastfeeding women. The styling is simple and streamlined, as one would expect Scandinavian fashion to be. The fabrics are soft cotton with some spandex for stretchy comfort in basic neutral shades of black and grey and dusky blues and roses. No pastel nonsense here! The few prints that Boob offers are bold and graphic: nautical stripes and punchy mod patterns. This nursing dress, for example, looks like it could be in the Boden fall catalog:

The proprietary Boob nursing opening was designed to provide easy access while offering midriff coverage, both for modesty and for warmth. There are no weird extraneous layers of fabric with boobie holes cut out to add bulk or complicate the matter at hand– baby needs to eat, RIGHT NOW! It is intuitive and practical, and also makes a pseudo-empire waistline that is very flattering to post-partum figures. Something useful for breastfeeding that also makes you feel pretty? Nice.

I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to try Boob's maternity wear. I might have to get pregnant again, just so I could wear this dress:

Just joking. I'm pretty satisfied with my Boob nursing dress, which does indeed make me smile when I wear it:

Boob maternity and nursing clothing is available online at Due Maternity and Stockholm Objects.

***One lucky breastfeeding reader will have the opportunity to try Boob herself. I have a short-sleeved white cotton nursing nightgown in size medium to give away. Just leave a comment on this post telling me which design from Boob's Fall Collection is your favorite. I'll pick a random winner sometime after midnight on October 5th. BE SURE I HAVE SOME WAY OF CONTACTING YOU IF YOU WIN! ***

  15. I love the black nursing dress. I think it's amazing because I'm always having to plan to wear separates when I go to church or somewhere dressy. Believe me, I've done the whole "raise your dress above your head while nursing" thing, and it's not fun.
