Rotten mommy that I am, I have no special plans underway for his first birthday. But thankfully I won a fabulous prize in My Mommy's Bracelets' Spring Fling giveaway: a gorgeous personalized birthday hat from Darling Designs. It came yesterday and I couldn't be more thrilled. I won't force it onto his little bald head for a photo op until the actual date but trust me when I say it is absolutely adorable and hilarious. Especially because the maribou trim is the exact shade of Roo's hair, so it looks like Jasper is wearing a bizarre toupee…
If anyone has any brilliant suggestions for Jasper's first birthday shindig, let me know. If you want to festoon him with gifts, that's fine, too.

I pretty much suck at planning birthday parties so I can't give you any good ideas... for my three kids' first birthdays I had family and friends over and let the child have their own little cake, watched them play with the boxes and gift bags, took a zillion pictures. And none of them had a snazzy hat like that!
