FeelGOOD with Lands' End

Lands' End sent me this fantastic stripey cardigan from their new FeelGOOD Sweater Collection. Aside from being cute and in my old school colors (though I think the red grape/charcoal heather or saddle/iris colorways might be better for me these days!), this sweater is impressively soft. The extra-soft FeelGOOD yarn is 55% cotton/25% nylon/20% wool but it feels as soft as cashmere. There are tons of other FeelGOOD items, too, including a particularly fabulous FeelGOOD Yarn Cable Aviator Hat. I totally want one!

So what else is there to FeelGOOD about with this collection? From now through December, for every FeelGOOD Sweater purchased, Lands' End will donate FeelGOOD yarn to One Heart Foundation’s Warming Families, a nationwide knitting charity founded by Alan Osmond (the oldest of the Osmond Brothers!) and his wife Suzanne. The FeelGOOD yarn will be distributed so that community members can knit hats for the homeless or displaced. Lands' End expects to donate thousands of pounds of yarn for Warming Families volunteers to knit up to 25,000 hats for the men, women and children across the country who need them most.

If you're a blogger, you can help Lands' End spread the word about the FeelGood collection and campaign. For every blog post written about the collection until September 16, Lands' End will donate a cone of FeelGOOD yarn to the volunteer knitters at Warming Families. One cone of FeelGOOD yarn is enough to make 28 hats to be donated to homeless individuals in communities across the country!

In this video, Vickie Howell, knitting/craft guru and host of DIY Networks Knitty Gritty, demonstrates stitch techniques for knitting a ribbed hat with Lands' End FeelGOOD Yarn:

  1. Seriously, is it not THE cutest? Even though my hubby is making bumblebee comments, I secretly think he likes it.

  2. It certainly looks like a back to school sweater, so bright and cheery!

I was a Lands' End customer for years (and years) and although I still like a lot of their clothing, I'll no longer purchase from them.

Lands' End is great for selection, price and customer service (returns and just being generally nice and helpful) but personal experience showed me they have no regard for customer loyalty. I think companies need to appreciate our loyalty and I won't shop with companies that don't!

All that aside, good luck at the Twitter Party; hope you win some nice warm things for the cold weather ahead.

  3. I imagine if you *ahem* asked LE you could get something less school colorish. You and your funky style could rock some leggings with it.

  4. I love the sweater too! So soft! I do feel like a bumble bee, and I think I might order it in a different color... And I need one of those aviator hats!!
