***CONGRATULATIONS!!!***

We drink a lot of Diet Coke in this house. It's a little scary, actually. Bob doesn't drink coffee so he gets his caffeine fix in carbonated form. There's a great deal on 12-packs for the holiday weekend so we just stockpiled some. Who can deny the iconic appeal of the silver Diet Coke can emblazoned with the classic red Coke logo?
Well, Diet Coke is getting a Hollywood makeover this Labor Day. Select hotels and bars throughout Los Angeles will be featuring graceful spun aluminum 8.5 oz bottles of Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Classic, and Coke Zero. The new bottles are not only stylish but also keep beverages colder longer. I received some samples and the bottles are downright sexy!
They evoke the curvy glass bottles that I vaguely remember from my youth but they feel totally modern. And colder! They definitely feel like they keep the chill on.
If you're not lucky enough to be spending Labor Day in southern California (or even if you are, but just can't make it down to one of the hipster hangouts serving the new bottles!), Coca-Cola wants to give you the chance to try the new exclusive bottles!
To enter and win samples of the new Coca-Cola aluminum bottles (I received three bottles, one of each flavor, so that is probably what the prize will be), please comment on this post with your favorite sodapop memory or story.
Entries will be accepted through September 9th and I'll pick the winner using Random.org. US readers are eligible.
For an additional entry, post my button on your blog (see code on sidebar), follow my blog, follow me on Twitter, fave me on Technorati or subscribe via email or subscribe via reader. Leave an extra comment letting me know what you did for each additional entry.
Make sure you leave an email address in your comment or that you have one accessible on your blog so you can be contacted if you win!

You're right, they are sexy. I'd totally buy one for a Coke fix.
ReplyDeleteOne of my uncles collects a lot of Coke memorabilia, so I remember gathering any Coke things for him, like when we'd go down South for vacations. For some reason I remember bringing him a lawn chair or something bizarre.
eeek. Coke. I've done pretty good until now on eliminating sodas but that bottle makes me want a whole case of pop. Pretty!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any exciting soda stories but I remember my mother told me they were so poor when she was little that at Christmas, they were elated to find a case of mixed sodas under the tree. She said they drank the case in a day and whoooped it up big time.
Those are real purdy.
ReplyDeleteI always liked drinking soda in a bottle when I was a kid. It was a special treat.
And I always liked to pretend I was having a beer when I drank IBC rootbeer.
Hi, My memory is about going to the drugstore after school for "real"

I was at a friend's house, just getting ready to leave, when his mom said she was too tired to cook, so they'd be getting hamburgers from A&W that night. I immediately volunteered that Kevin (her son) and I would walk over and get them. On the way I explained the plan to him. There were 7 of them, and they were getting two hamburgers each. We walked in to A&W and the waitress asked for our order. We both talked about how full we were from a big lunch, then I ordered 7 hamburgers. Kevin did the same. The waitress barely squeaked out "You guys want SEVEN hamburgers?" I replied, "Yeah, seven for him, seven for me - 14 all together". She gulped and asked if there would be anything else. Kevin said "A gallon of root beer". She turned to me and asked "Do you want a gallon of root beer too?" I said to Kevin, "Kevin I'm really full. Don't be a pig - let's split the root beer!" So we got 14 hamburgers and a gallon of root beer, paid for it, and took it back to Kevin's house for his family, leaving a bewildered waitress.
