Genesis of a Great Idea

I've been participating in the community forums on Collective Bias for a couple of months now. It's a thinktank for the eponymous new digital agency that seeks to connect brands with the people who use them, i.e. consumers, via social networking channels. One of the most exciting opportunities to come out of these discussions so far is a contest that will be officially launched on Friday at Blog World Expo in Las Vegas. One of Collective Bias' newest clients, Genesis Today, is looking for the perfect social media campaign to introduce their line of superfruit juices to the world and they want your ideas to get it all started. If your campaign is chosen, you could win a $10K consulting contract!

Dr. Lindsey Duncan, the world-renowned naturopath and nutritionist behind Genesis Today, will be discussing their extensive product line during a panel at 11:30 on Friday at BWE. Joining him on the panel will be ubiquitous social media goddess (and my friend) Katja Presnal and Collective Bias frontman John Andrews who will introduce the contest and field questions. Learn more about Collective Bias' agenda at BWE (including their "Speed Dating" to introduce bloggers with the brands they want to meet!) and follow along on Twitter. You can also check for updates on the Genesis of a Great idea contest website after the panel on Friday.

This is a great opportunity to have your ideas heard by a new company and I hope at least a few of my readers decide to submit proposals once the contest rules are announced. I didn't want to spill the beans about this contest until I had the opportunity to try some Genesis Today products so I bought bottles of their Acai Berry Juice, Goji Berry Juice and Resveratrol Juice to sample.

These three juice blends (Acai Berry Juice, Goji Berry Juice and Resveratrol Juice) are all widely available at Walmart, which is where I bought mine. (Genesis Today's concentrated health supplements can be found at health food/nutritional supplement retailers.) Each contains exotic superfruits that pack an antioxidant punch. I was really surprised at how much my family liked them. Roo actually asks for the Goji Berry Juice, which is sort of shocking since she is very picky and the juice is not the sweetest of the three. In fact, it tastes a bit like a carrot/apple juice and has great nutritional value including more than the daily requirements for vitamin C and B. Bob, who is notoriously cranky about sampling anything that I review for the blog, has asked me to keep all three juices in the house from now on! So I can safely say that I stand behind Genesis Today, at least from a flavor and nutrition perspective. I can't wait to hear more about the Genesis of a Great idea contest!

Disclosure: Collective Bias asked me to spread the word about this contest and also to try the juices and let them know what I think. I have received no compensation for this and bought the juice with my own money although I think they might reimburse me for that purchase eventually. I'll let you know if that happens!
