No Sick Days from Motherhood

We're usually pretty healthy but this year, all four of us succumbed to the zombie plague that was going around and around. It was a long winter. From Thanksgiving through the New Year, it seemed like at least one of us was battling some kind of horrible cold.

It's bad enough when the kids are sick but when my husband gets sick, it's even worse. I don't know what it is about everyday illness that makes grown men turn into whiny babies! Bob is rarely sick but when he is, he is totally out of commission and moaning the whole time. When I'm sick, I just want to sleep it off but for some reason he likes to make his presence known. Yay.

Since we were both sick this time, I made sure that we had an arsenal of NyQuil and DayQuil on hand. They're both good at relieving the nasal congestion, aches and pains and fever quickly. I prefer the liquicaps, especially in the non-drowsy DayQuil, because they're easy to swallow and encourage you to drink more water- something that also helps speed recuperation.

I kept Bob on the NyQuil in the hopes that he would stay in bed! He doesn't sit around doing nothing very well even when he's healthy but when he's sick he's even more restless, so he needs that extra help with relaxing and especially with falling asleep. NyQuil helped him sleep through the night without coughing so much– which helped me sleep better, too.

DayQuil and NyQuil are the #1 pharmacist recommended brand for adult cough/cold/flu relief but it is not recommended for children younger than 12, so please save it for mom and dad! Be sure to follow the usage guidelines for warnings and dosage directions or visit http://www.vicks.com for more information.

In accordance to the FTC Guidelines and the WOMMA Code of Ethics, I am disclosing that I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Vicks DayQuil & NyQuil. I received product samples and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

  1. Oh man, we've been sick since Christmas; Sounds like it's been a rough season all over the country! I don't know that I've ever tried DayQuil or NyQuil, at least not in many, many years. I'll keep this in mind for next time we get sick (though I hope it'll be a good long while). :)
