A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes tour at my local Chick-fil-A. I drive by the restaurant at least twice daily when school is in session. was more than impressed with the sense of teamwork and community responsibility displayed by everyone I met. From the owner-operator to line cooks, everyone was friendly and genuinely interested in spreading the love.
I was surprised to discover that they hand trim their chicken in store and also locally source produce daily. Their kitchen is cleaner and certainly more efficient than mine is! Also interesting is that they use brand-name ingredients in their kitchen instead of generic condiments and dressings.
Chick-fil-A has a whole line of new grilled items. I had the new Grilled Chicken Club and it was delicious. While it does not usually come with pickles, they were happy to accommodate my need. I had also not tried dipping the waffle fries in the Polynesian sauce but now highly recommend it!
While I might not agree with the some of the chain's politics (I'm pro gay marriage and Sunday is probably my most likely day to grab food out with the family), I must admit that I love their chicken and their general commitment to excellence. It's the only fast food I really feel okay about my kids eating and likewise, their play area is fastidiously clean and safe. I feel like they treat their employees well and, in turn, their employees are genuinely friendly and enthusiastic about helping you have the best possible experience.
