Blog Blast: "A Family That Plays Together, Stays Together."

We're three weeks into being a four-person family, so we haven't really formed much of a group identity yet. So far, Jasper is a tiny milk-fed tyrant, and Roo is surprisingly mellow about having all my time monopolized by her new little brother and his boobie lust. Bob thinks it's hilarious that this newborn can cause me to stop all functionality but it's not like he's waking up all night to cater to the little guy.

That being said, we have made an effort to do things as a family. Specifically, we've gone to the zoo. Jasper slept the entire time and Roo ran wild. We take walks. Jasper tends to sleep through them while Roo narrates everything we see. We listen to music. Jasper mostly sleeps through that, too, but occasionally shows some interest. I am impressed with his ability to sleep while his big sister is singing into a microphone or kissing him on the head and toes.

I am looking forward to Jasper becoming more of a baby and less of a newborn over the coming months and discovering more family fun opportunities.

This post was inspired by a Blog Blast proposal by The Parent Bloggers Network. One lucky blogger will win a Nintendo Wii console along with a copy of the new game Boogie for their family's enjoyment. Brought to you in conjunction with Parent Bloggers Network & EA’s Wii-Boogie, a family gaming experience. Shake it. Sing it. Create it.

  1. How sweet how obviously she loves him already so much!
My children are the best friends with each others, and it is such a joy to see them play together. I know it is going to be a while before Jasper and Roo and play together, but it will come!

Thank you for your nice comment on my blog!

  2. Oh, I love the newborn stage. I don't like how I am usually feeling, raging hormonal nut, but I love newborn babies. So sweet ...
