Meet The Zumbies

We went to see ParaNorman yesterday and all of us loved it. We're a family of zombie enthusiasts, although I sometimes worry about how loving brain-eating dead things might impact the kids. No, not really. I was, however, excited to hear about Enterplay's new collectible string doll series The Zumbies: Walking Thread since they're more adorable than morbid.

They're more like worry dolls than monsters. Each of the twelve Zumbies possesses "Lucky JuJu" to impart to its new owner. They come with a trading card that tells you the story of their untimely passing and what their otherworldly JuJu is.

Roo got Unsatisfied Sally (Lucky JuJu: Inner Beauty) and Jasper got Unsportsmanlike Spencer (Lucky JuJu: Athletic Ability.) If you squint, they kind of look like them. Ha!

The Zumbies have a jump ring and bead chain attached, so you can hang them from backpacks or lunchboxes, or even wear them all around your neck like a tribal chief of JuJu. They make a nice token of affection for back to school that your kids won't be embarrassed to show their friends.

One caveat: you probably don't want to leave your Zumbies out in the open if you have kittens. Their stringy hair is irresistible to felines…
